“The whole concert was treasurable, the musicianship impeccable, and over all shone the extraordinary beauty of the Vertavo players’ tone,” declares the Seattle Post Intelligencer. The Vertavo String Quartet has captivated audiences the world over since its founding in 1984. The quartet’s honors and awards include Norway’s Grieg Prize; First Prize, the Audience Prize, and the Critics’ Prize at the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition; and a Diapason d’Or for their recording of Debussy and Grieg quartets. The group has toured extensively throughout Europe, the US, and Japan, and collaborated with pianists Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Leif Ove Andsnes, clarinetist Sabine Meyer, and violinist and violist Isabelle van Keulen.
